the-journey-original-painting
The Journey Original Painting

The Journey

I created The Journey in acrylic through grattage, stone work, and finger painting. These methods connect me personally to the beginnings of art, shaping a piece about humanity's journey and progress.

I worked the painting vertically, with gravity part of its meaning, and display it horizontally to reflect how daily life is experienced. Cream, tan, and brown form long layers, interrupted by dark marks and narrow red accents. From a distance, the bands create a quiet rhythm. Up close, the worked surface offers more to discover.

The original artwork

Artwork dimensions: 24 in wide × 18 in high × 0.63 in deep

Painted in the USA on canvas sourced from Cambodia

Part of FREEBRD Originals on Display

What to expect

Authenticity: A signed, one-of-one original painting, not a print or reproduction.

Canvas and support: Medium-grain canvas on kiln-dried fir wood.

Texture: See the detail image in the product gallery for a closer look at the worked layers and canvas surface.

Hanging: No visible staples on the sides.
