When I say ‘live free,’ I don’t mean only when the flags are out.
I love what Pride makes room for: expression, connection, and the reminder that nobody should have to hide who they are to belong. But I don’t want that message to disappear when June ends.
To me, Pride is a full-time vibe. Not a demand to be loud every day. Not a particular look. It’s the freedom to be yourself, whether that means standing out, finding your people, or simply moving through an ordinary day without editing yourself for someone else’s comfort.
And that freedom belongs to LGBTQ+ people all year. So do dignity, care, and community.
You don’t owe anyone a performance of confidence. Some days, being yourself feels easy. Other days, it takes more out of you. I want the message behind FREEBRD to leave room for both.
Self-expression can be something you wear. It can also be a conversation, a boundary, or the way you make another person feel welcome. The visible moments matter, but so do the quiet ones.
That’s why Pride belongs here in Unity. Shared humanity doesn’t mean overlooking our differences. It means caring about one another without asking those differences to disappear.
I want what I create to carry that spirit beyond a celebration or a calendar date. A little color. A little courage. A reminder that there’s room for you.
Pride isn’t something I want to pack away after June.
