I don’t believe we have to be alike to belong together.
You have your own story. Your own way of moving through the world. Your own ideas, experiences, and ways of expressing yourself. I’m not interested in asking you to shrink any of that to fit in.
When I talk about unity, I’m talking about making room. Not just for the people we understand easily, but for the people whose lives look different from our own. Especially those who are too often overlooked, pushed aside, or told they don’t belong.
To me, shared humanity starts there. Listening before assuming. Treating someone’s dignity as a given, not something they have to earn. Being willing to stand beside someone even when their experience isn’t yours.
That’s what I want to build through FREEBRD. A space where individuality and connection can exist together. You can be fully yourself and still be part of something bigger.
Pride is one expression of that belonging. So are the everyday moments when we show up for a neighbor, welcome someone new, or speak up when another person is being made small. None of that needs to wait for a celebration.
I want what I create to carry that same spirit. Self-expression isn’t about proving you’re different. It’s about feeling free enough to be yourself, and extending that freedom to someone else.
You don’t have to share every part of someone’s story to care about them.
That’s what I mean when I say we rise together.
