Patchy

I created Patchy as an acrylic painting about patching life together and finding moments of peace along the way. Simple brushstrokes build blue-green, yellow, and muted pink panels, crossed by thick black outlines, circular marks, red lines, and white drips.

The blue sky represents reaching for help and peace. The white drips carry the joy of Lily, my studio dog, whose overflowing happiness brought me motivation during sadness and helped inspire FREEBRD. Urban street-art energy and grunge become something beautiful, without losing their rough edges.

The original artwork

  • Artwork size: 30 × 40 inches
  • Vertical composition
  • Painted in the USA on canvas sourced from Cambodia
